Fragrance for men
House: Guerlain
Designer: Thierry Wasser
Launching product: 2012
Olfactory group: woody aromatic

Guerlain has launched Guerlain Homme L’Eau Boisée, a new aromatic woody citrus flanker to 2010′s Guerlain Homme L’Eau (itself a flanker to 2008′s Guerlain Homme).

The freshness in Guerlain Homme comes from a spring. Hidden deep in the jungle, untouched by man, it captures the essence of the natural elements it touches. When Vetiver root comes into contact with a torrent of ice-cold water, it exudes a powerful woody aroma.

The inspiration for this new interpretation of Guerlain Homme L’EAU, overdosed with vetiver, is drawn from [perfumer] Thierry Wasser’s journey in Southern India.

He encountered a new kind of vetiver essence on the highlands overlooking the city of Coimbatore. Those of Java and Haïti were already known, but that of India was a first… It was therefore the opportunity to bring a new activity to the local population based on a rational and eco-friendly culture, that enabled Guerlain to use this exceptional new type of vetiver.

Vetiver essence
Homme, L'Eau Boisée de Guerlain 1

Vetiver essence, overdosed in Guerlain Homme L’Eau Boisée, is known for its calming effects on the most ungovernable instincts. Vibrant, masculine and robust, it brings all its power and intensity to bear on the ebullient freshness of the newest addition to the Guerlain Homme line.

  • A vibrating freshness built around a key ingredient, the vetiver.
  • An olfactory construction similar to l’Eau (citrus, mint, rhum) but with more aromatic and woody facets.
  • A trail remaining fresh while long lasting, sensual and more powerful than l’Eau.
The bottle

black ash tree wood cap and undulating curves on the front of the bottle capture the robust, masculine feel of vetiver matched with the icy-cool freshness of a summery cocktail.
