The artist Lorrie Turk explains step-by-step the Taylor Swift make-up at the 2012 American Music Awards

Taylor wanted her knock-out dress to be the inspiration for her AMA red carpet look. I lightly buffed NatureLuxe Silk Foundation onto her face with a synthetic foundation brush, explained Lorrie and powdered only through the centre of her face to leave a nice dewy finish on her skin. I then lightly brushed on Cheekers Blush in Natural Twinkle for some soft colour and shimmer.

I started by dabbing on (using my fingertip) Intense Shadow Blast in Brown Bling as a base. Next, I brushed on (with an eyeshadow brush) Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadow in Brown Smolder all over the lid, from the lash-line to just beneath her brow bone and her lower lash-line. Using LiquilineBlast Eyeliner in Black Fire, I then lined her upper and lower lash-line heavily, blending up and out to eliminate hard lines, leaving her eyes soft and smoky. We finished with several coats of the new LashBlast Clump Crusher Mascara in Very Black.

Lastly, I used NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in Grenache, applying it directly from the tube. Voilà! It’s time for you to try it!

28 pairs of wings

18 make-up artists, 22 hairstylists and 7 manicurists

In terms of product, more than 120 tubes of red lipstick, 80 tubes of mascara, 50 hairsprays, 38 tubes of self-tanner and 50 tubes of sparkle cream were used.

The average height of the Nicholas Kirkwood heels worn by the models was 6 inches (15.24 cm).
