In the 18th century, a tomato-based lotion appeared on the market to fight pimples, based on the principle that the acidity found in this fruit could be beneficial in treating skin problems. Today, tomatoes are still our skin's allies.
- Thoroughly crush two tomatoes and collect the juice, or use a juicer.
- Mix with 100 ml (scant 1/2 cup) milk and store in the refrigerator for up to 4 or 5 days, no longer.
- Be careful - if you have sensitive skin, avoid tomatoes: they'll mean redness for sure!

A miracle cure: a slice of tomato placed on sunburned skin for 15 minutes will take away the burning feeling and prevent peeling and blistering.
