In times past, women would keep the cooking water from potatoes. Before going out dancing, in order to stay light on their feet into the wee hours, they would warm this cooking water and use it as a foot bath for 10 to 15 minutes.

You don't have to be planning on going out dancing to revive this old custom, because our feet always need some attention. Besides being relaxing, this water has calming, refreshing and invigorating properties for your feet.
