Contouring vs Strobing, what differences?

All about makeup > Contouring vs Strobing, what differences?

Whether you're looking for a sophisticated makeup or a more subtle and radiant complexion, all is about technique!

Contouring

The Contouring combines makeup with dark shades to accentuate your features and lighter shades to highlight them - it's all about bringing out those cheekbones! The result ? A complexion carved & matte!

Do not make the mistake of using a bronzer - there are too many reflections in there. A matte outline should be used in a slightly darker color than your natural complexion. Tiip: Use a small eyebrow for a really precise outline. Use a darker shade of matte outline along the side of your temples, under your cheekbones and jawline. Then dab your beauty blender or sponge on this masterpiece to make sure that the lines are not visible and that your contouring is subtle. The least is really the best!

Strobing

A way to reveal the radiance of your face without hardening your features.

For a soft and radiant glow, this technique uses only light to sublimate your face - for that, forget the bronzing and dark powders. Change your regular foundation for a brighter product, or simply mix a dash of illuminator powder with your current foundation to give it more shine. Avoid using anything matte colours in this routine, as this will diminish the results. Then use a highlighter to sublimate the areas where the light would naturally hit your face: for most of us, these areas are on the cheekbones, the nose bridge and the side of your temples. Do not apply a highlighter on your forehead if you are afraid to shine. For fair skin, your choice of colour should be champagne. If your skin tone is near medium to dark, be prepared to apply more golden tones.

Contouring works best on combination to oily skin or for those who want to bring out their cheekbones. The Strobing will be more suitable for making a light, subtle makeup.
