For your eyes only > Lashes > The different types of eyelashes in the world
A representative study on 2,280 women around the world (USA , Asia and Europe). 4,800 photographs of their eyelashes were taken from 3 different angles (front view for appearance, in profile for curl, from above for length) to enable a better comparison. This study enabled eyelashes to be categorised into 5 groups:
BEAUTIFUL EYELASHES
Full, well-curled, and perfectly positioned. 20% of the world’s women belong in this category.
FAIR EYELASHES
Blonde, dark blonde or ginger lashes are almost invisible and seem shorter and less curled than they really are.
STRAIGHT EYELASHES
Lacking curl, these lashes (mainly Asian) merge with the rim of the eye. They also tend to be thicker (larger in diameter). In Japan, women say that their eyelashes point downwards. This is why many use eyelash-curlers every day.
WEAK EYELASHES
Short, damaged, sparse and weakly curled.
UNRULY EYELASHES
Abundant and often rebellious, these are tangled from the root, just like hair.
