A warm or cold basil infusion is excellent for soothing numerous eye problems related to fatigue, especially when your eyes are stinging after a long night drive, too many hours in front of the computer, etc. You can use the infusion as a compress or as an eye bath.
Warning! The infusion must be made from fresh leaves, because if the leaves are dry or ground, the infusion, even if strained, will be full of tiny suspended particles that could further irritate your eyes instead of soothing them.
Infusion
1. Infuse 1 tbsp. basil leaves in 1 cup boiling water for 10 minutes; strain; moisten a compress;
2. place over your tired eyes and wait 10 minutes.
